Lane · the finance assistant

Find the number that does not tie. Explain why. Let a person decide.

Lane reads your tied-out actuals, reviews, forecasts and drivers. It answers questions with links to the source, flags what needs attention, and proposes a fix when the evidence is clear.

Lane is an assistant, not an autopilot. Product screens show a fictional sample company. Every suggestion waits for a human approval.

What Lane can do

Useful in the close, grounded in your books.

01

Tie out the month

Re-add the statements and reports, compare them with the connected ledger, and name the company, account and month behind a difference.

02

Explain the movement

Answer why revenue, margin, cash or a forecast line changed, with a link back to the review, driver or source page.

03

Suggest a fix

Offer a mapping change when an account is filed against the ledger’s own type, then describe what will be rebuilt.

04

Trace the evidence

Keep the same figures and open items as the dashboard so a reviewer can follow the answer without starting over.

Human approval, by design

Lane can propose. Your team publishes.

Lane does not silently change an account mapping, driver, scenario, report or ledger connection. Each proposed change shows what will move, why it was suggested, and where the evidence came from.

  1. Lane finds an issueThe assistant names the tie-out, account, company and month.
  2. Lane proposes a changeThe proposed mapping or driver change is shown before it can affect a report.
  3. A person reviews itSomeone with the right role opens the source page and chooses Apply or leaves it unchanged.
  4. Outlane rebuilds and ties outThe review runs again, and the audit history records who approved it and when.

AI can also be switched off. Outlane continues to work with the same tie-outs, approvals and source history.

Asked to check August, Lane proposes moving 4010 Food Sales back to revenue, says the other 29 statement checks passed, and offers Apply and Open the page buttons
Lane’s suggestion stays a draft until a person applies it.

Example · sample data

One wrong mapping. Three tie-outs. Two presses.

In the Larkspur sample group, Lane found Food Sales filed under expenses and two liabilities filed as long-term. It offered the changes, the analyst applied them, and all 22 tie-outs passed after the review rebuilt.
