Outlane
Terms of service
Last updated: September 16, 2026
These terms cover your use of Outlane, the website and the app. They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, email us before you rely on it.
In these terms, “Outlane”, “we” and “us” mean the company that runs Outlane. “You” means the business that uses Outlane, and the people it invites. By using Outlane, you agree to these terms. If you use Outlane for a company, you confirm you are allowed to agree for it.
1. Early access
Outlane is in early access. We are opening it to a small number of finance teams, and it is still changing. Features may be added, changed or removed.
2. Accounts and roles
- You sign in with your work email address. Keep access to that inbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- Each workspace has admins. Admins decide who is invited, which role each person has, and what each role can do.
- You are responsible for who you invite and the access you give them. Remove people who should no longer have access.
- You are responsible for what happens in your workspace, including reports your team shares with people outside it.
- Tell us at hello@outlane.ai straight away if you think someone has signed in who should not have.
3. Acceptable use
Do not:
- upload or connect data you do not have the right to use;
- try to reach another customer’s workspace or data, or get around roles and access checks;
- probe, scan or test Outlane’s security without our written permission. Reporting an issue you come across is welcome, as described on our security page;
- overload, disrupt or reverse engineer the service;
- use Outlane for anything unlawful, or to mislead the people who read your reports;
- resell or give access to Outlane to anyone outside your business without our agreement.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you first.
4. Your data
- You own your data: your ledger, budgets, drivers, forecasts, templates, reports and anything else you put into Outlane.
- You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Outlane to you, keep it secure, and support you.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models.
- You are responsible for having the right to put data into Outlane. That includes employees’ names in payroll and roster data.
Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
5. Connected services
- You can connect third-party services, such as QuickBooks Online or NetSuite. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, not ours.
- Outlane only reads from the accounting systems you connect. It does not write to them.
- We are not responsible for a third-party service being unavailable, changing, or returning wrong data.
- You can disconnect a service at any time. Reports already built from it stay in your workspace.
6. AI suggestions
- Some features use AI to suggest account mappings, forecast drivers, scenario changes and report layouts, and to answer questions about your figures.
- AI output is a suggestion for a person to review. It can be wrong. A suggested change is not applied until someone in your workspace confirms it.
- Outlane is not financial, tax or accounting advice. You remain responsible for your books, your reports and the decisions you make with them.
7. Availability
During early access, Outlane is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. Keep your own records in your accounting system.
8. Fees
Outlane is free during early access. Before we charge for anything, we will tell you the price and give you notice. You will not be charged unless you agree.
9. Ending your use
- You can stop using Outlane at any time by telling us at hello@outlane.ai.
- We can end your access with reasonable notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms.
- Before your access ends, you can download your published reports, and admins can download the access report.
- When you ask, we will delete your workspace’s data, except where the law requires us to keep it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption;
- our total liability to you for any claim about Outlane is limited to the amount you paid us for Outlane in the 12 months before the claim. During early access, that amount is zero.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Outlane changes. We will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell workspace admins before it takes effect. If you keep using Outlane after that, the new terms apply.
12. Governing law
The law that governs these terms will be set out here.
